Louis Vuitton’s latest collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, called the Cosmic Blossom Collection, is causing some serious buzz. Murakami is responsible for the fabulous Louis Vuitton Multicolore Monogram line, which I adore, so I couldn’t wait to take a look at their most recent collaboration. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, this new line of Louis Vuitton handbags isn’t quite the parade of masterpieces that the Multicolore line was.

The fashion world lost a true original this month. Alexander McQueen, known as one of the fashion world’s edgiest bad boys was found dead due to an apparent suicide by hanging at his home on Feb 11. He was 40. His death followed the passing of his mother earlier in the year, as well as his mentor’s suicide in 2007. I thought it would be important to dedicate a post to the passing of one of fashion’s greatest and most interesting characters, who contributed so much to the fashion world, and in particular to the Gucci brand.
