Aging supermodel Naomi Campbell has agreed this week to donate her own pale green alligator Hermes Birkin bag to French auctioneers Artcurial (who sincerely hope the Hermes is not a fake I’m sure) who will then sell it to raise money for the White Ribbon Alliance for safe Motherhood, a charity that helps raise awareness and prevent death of mothers in childhood.

Who said Naomi wasn’t generous? Well not me, I think it’s wonderful. I just wonder if she’s got an in with a fake Hermes dealer and is keeping her real Birkin for herself…not that I would do that…never!

I can’t help but find the wealthy a little hilarious when they’re all dressed in their sensible white clothes down at the yacht club…but if you are that rich, do something good with it, right?
