SOFIA RECOMMENDS

Is Madonna too over the hill for Louis Vuitton? Louis Vuitton has ousted the 51-year-old Queen of Pop as the face of Louis Vuitton handbags in favor of a much younger model, Lara Stone. Sure, I understand the need to keep things fresh, but to me, replacing Madonna with Lara Stone is a little like replacing Marilyn Monroe with Lindsay Lohan. Madonna just has this iconic, authentic, timeless quality that could never be embodied by some 27-year-old who happens wear “plus” sizes.

New Louis Vuitton Material Girl: Lara Who?
Madonna has a unique ability to radiate sexuality and sophistication at the same time. When Madonna reveals her underwear it comes across as a feminist act. How can a little girl with barely 3 years on the catwalk compete? What does she represent? Is her not so plus “plus” size a feminist act?

Agree totally. When I looked at the ad of Madonna posing, the feeling it gave was daring, effiminate and attractive at the same time. Looking and scrutinising every single detail of the ad was nice. I even wonder to myself, gee, Madonna is sooo cool (albeit her age at 57yrs old!)
But when i look at the ad depicting Lara Stone… I was thinking.. omg, what happen to LV ads? Is CSI taking over the shoot or wat.?? Lara looks more like fresh corps than anything else….
Luis Vuitton will be my extreme favourite. with their “nasty” is absolutely match with “super beauty grandma” madonna. I ove it very much….
Absolutely agree with Eurica says. Lara Stone was make Luis Vuitton get more fresh and totally prety…..
Yeah Lara looks like a corpse and how can u replace such an icon like Madonna for some typical looking model that I totally forget her face even after looking at her several times, shes so average and Who is she? Lol. Cant even remember her name. Madonna has power, substance and beauty. Stupid move on behalf of LV, their new model looks like every other model out there.
