It’s kind of hard to ignore Lady Ga-Ga. Even so, I’ve managed for the most part, until this picture of her carrying (an authentic incidentally) of my favourite Fendi replica handbag. That, and the fact that we called my grandmother “Gaga” have endeared me to her enough to finally write about her.

The Fendi purse was stuffed, oh so discreetly, with a Playboy magazine and accompanied an outfit of Poindexter glasses, Minnie Mouse hair and a leotard that made her look naked. Can you say attention getter?

Lady Ga-Ga’s style is all her own, I’ll give her that. But really, when the definition of your style is best described as “shocking” or “hideous enough to be totally original because no one else would wear it” you kind of lose my vote for fashion inspiration.

One of the most common comments on the blogs about Lady Ga-Ga is actually that she is so often “saved” by a really tasteful handbag. I own a replica of the Fendi bag pictured above, and I’d have to agree, that’s definitely saving her look above.

But is her hot handbags taste just evidence of what so many people claim—that she’s actually super fashionable, she just chooses to look ridiculous to challenge us?

I think it’s a little more so that she’s a little too young, and a little too wealthy for her own good. This girl is barely out of teenage life, and blasting around in the fashion focus. While it may be normal for style icons to be young…most of them take advice. This looks a little more like insisting against the better judgment of her friends…to be oh so angsty, young and different.

Really it just seems like Mademoiselle Ga-Ga is good for a laugh. And maybe that’s what the intention is and I should take a break from being such a snob about replica purses and enjoy the lark…

I’d like to see her bust out of one of her famous hotels with a replica handbag…make it Fendi since she likes them so much. Really, if anyone can wear a replica bag and make it seem intentional, then get respect for it, it would be Lady Ga-Ga. If she’s a fashion rebel, well I guess she should keep on keepin’ on, but don’t expect much attention from me.
