For those of you who caught my article last week about Nan Kempner being referred to by Vanity Fair as the best dressed woman…ever, you`ll love this latest list from Vogue. This week Vanity Fair put out it`s 50 best dressed of the year list (check out their best dressed hall of fame too!) and Vogue magazine chose their 5 favourite women from the list—a few of whom happen to be among my personal favourite handbag muses. So here`s a look at the purse tastes of the best dressed.
I was doing some light reading on Elle.com recently and I stumbled upon an article full of great pics looking at the enduring appeal of structured top-handle bags. The article sent my off on a lengthy internet journey pouring through images of stunning top-handle bags from the Hermes Kelly onwards. Eventually I ended up at my favourite online replica retailer, Replica Valley, ogling some of their latest top-handled bags. Now, if someone can just help me decide on which bag I should buy?
Naomi Campbell has always found interesting ways of attracting media attention. She has been in court for numerous assault charges, has had her supermodel share of drug controversy, has spent some time on the yacht of Queen Rania of Jordan, has dated famous rock stars, and has appeared in countless music videos. Last year I wrote an article about her donation of a Hermes Birkin bag (worth thousands) to charity. Oh yeah, and did I mention that she`s been one of the top grossing female Supermodels for the past 25 years?
Victoria Beckham keeps following me around. I recently mentioned this famous WAG in my soccer wives piece – but she`s popped back into my imagination as the star of a recent Marc Jacobs ad campaign. The former-Spice Girl, dancer, model, WAG (wife of uber-soccer star and dreamboat David Beckham) has come to be most well known as an international style icon (I`m not sure what that means, other than being seen looking good). She`s both designed clothes and appeared on the catwalk. She`s well known for rocking designer styles of all sorts and championing high-heels. Somehow, this girl has made a career of just plain looking great…which is admirable, no?
I recently saw Kate Moss on the cover of Vogue France and got to thinking about the aging Supermodel. Does she really still have what it takes to make it in this business? My God, she`s 36! How is it possible that her career has stayed so vital while her peers vanish into post-career oblivion? I decided to do a profile on Moss – and, of course, this profile MUST include some of her favourite handbags.
